FAQs
Are children allowed on the tour?
We do not accept bookings with children 10 years old and under, due to the guidelines and protocols we have set in collaboration with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature when it comes to watching the gibbons.
One such recommendation is that no children under 10 are to follow the gibbons due to the high risk of transmission of viruses that young children carry.
The similarities shared by humans and nonhuman apes make both groups susceptible to similar diseases. Respiratory pathogens in particular are recognized as a major cause of often fatal disease in wild great apes, these can include common colds, flu's etc.
How difficult is the terrain?
The terrain on our tours is moderately challenging. Trails can include uneven ground, gentle to steep slopes, and occasional muddy or slippery sections, especially after rain.
A moderate level of fitness is recommended, and we advise wearing sturdy, comfortable footwear. Our guides are there to support you every step of the way!
Will we definitely see the gibbons on the tour?
While we strive to provide the best possible experience, sightings of gibbons are not guaranteed. These wild primates live freely in the forest, and various factors such as heavy rain, strong winds, or other weather conditions can reduce the likelihood of them singing or being active.
Although our team have a success rate of 95% in finding the gibbons, it is important to remember that they are wild animals and can be elusive at times.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we venture into their natural habitat.
How many other guests will be on the tour?
To enhance your experience and minimize our impact on the environment, we limit each tour to a maximum of six guests. This smaller group size increases the chances of spotting gibbons and other wildlife while ensuring a more intimate and respectful encounter with nature.
How many days in advance should I make a booking?
Our tours operate on a first-come, first-served basis. During peak seasons (November to March and June to August), tours can fill up quickly.
To secure your spot and avoid disappointment, we recommend booking several weeks in advance. Planning early ensures you get the dates and experience you’re hoping for!
What is the difference between the private and public tour?
A private tour offers a more personalized experience, with a guide dedicated solely to your group, allowing for greater flexibility and a more tailored adventure.
In contrast, a public tour means you'll share the experience with other guests, providing a social and interactive opportunity to explore the forest together.
